Niche Music

This survey is for an exploratory MA project examining any impact that current technologies such as the Internet, software, cell phones, computers, etc. may have on niche music - whether one is a fan, musician, businessperson or all of the above.

For the survey I am loosely describing niche music as anything that is not currently hugely popular. If you do not listen solely to top 40 hits/artists, or like some of them but also like musicians or genres of music that aren't in the Billboard top charts, they are considered a niche for my current purposes.
Other aspects of the MA project are looking at more obvious, well-defined types of niche music.
