1. Understanding Autism Through Supervison

We are students of the course ENGL 300 Grammar for Teachers at SIUC taught by Dr. Christina Voss. Our group consists of Daniel Colcord, Regina Evans, Alison Romershausen, and Vanessa Knepp. This survey is for supervisors of autistic children, including teachers, parents, or any other caregivers. The purpose of our survey is to learn different approaches and techniques of educating, communicating with, and enhancing overall the life of the autistic child. This survey does not need consent from the Human Students Committee (HSC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) of SIUC because this survey is anonymous, it does not involve minors, ask for blood samples, and it is not for publication. This survey is for in-class practice only, and should only take about ten minutes. You can request the results from the survey if you wish by e-mailing Vanessa Knepp at vknepp5@hotmail.com. We hope this will shed some light on the difficulties with language acquisition and communicating skills that affect the autistic child. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. The deadline for completion of this survey is on April 11th, 2008.
