Monash Energy Challenge (Off Peak Power)

Welcome to the Monash Energy Challenge - Off Peak Power July 08.

During the month of July we would like all campuses, staff and students to take some simple steps to make a huge difference.

To be part of the challenge, simply complete the registration form below.

Registrants who submit new and innovative energy saving ideas will also be eligible to go into the draw for a fabulous ‘ECO-FRIENDLY' prize.

Those who register and submit new and innovative ideas for ALL of the upcoming environmental waves to be implemented throughout 2008 will also go into the end of year draw for major ‘ECO-FRIENDLY prize.

Turn off my lights

Ensure that the last person to leave, swtiches of all lights in lecture theatres, meeting rooms, kitchens, toilets etc

Ensure that the last person to leave, switches off all equipment/appliances ie photocopiers, faxes, printers, kettles)

Ensure that the last person to leave switches off air conditioning

Switch off any unused or unnecessary laboratory equipment (ie ovens, heating elements, storage rooms etc)

Lighting in my area or in nearby public spaces is automatically controlled, and does not switch off

A larger room or open plan area needs to have its lighting split so that all light switches do not go on at once

Lighting in my area is controlled by several switches that are inconvenient

Lighting in my area is excessive and can be de-lamped by removing lights completely (within Australian Standards).
