Museums and Mobile Adoption Survey, Center for History and New Media

The Center for History and New Media at George Mason University is taking a quick survey to determine if and how museums are offering visitors content for mobile or handheld delivery. We will publish our results as part of a larger white paper on museums and the mobile web later this year.
1. Do you provide content accessible via mobile devices in your museum or do you have plans to develop something?
If yes, what type of project did you or will you develop? Check all that apply.
2. If you do not provide mobile content, what are the main reason(s) your museum has not?
Check all that apply (and jump to question 6).
3. If you provide mobile content, do you rely on the visitor’s personal device or does the museum provide one with/without a fee?
4. How did your museum staff design and build the mobile application? Please indicate what tools and resources you consulted to design the mobile application, and how the staff contributed to the process:
5. Are you evaluating visitor usage of the device and its content? If yes, how?
6. In what type of museum or cultural institution do you work?
7. Are you interested in talking more about how museums deliver content and user experiences with mobile devices? Please leave your contact information and we will be in touch.
Thank you for taking time to complete this survey.
