1. Introduction
Manual Arts Teachers:
On July 1, 2008 MLA/WestEd became the official network providers for Manual Arts High School. As we prepare to form a transition team we have begun to collect data from several sources about the current state of the school. (Similar surveys will be administered with administrators, staff, parents and students.) Your responses will allow us to construct a solid strategic plan that is based on input from those who know best what's working and what's not.
In addition to the face-to-face focus groups we are conducting, we have created this on line survey so you can respond to an additional set of questions about the school environment. This survey will also allow you to elaborate on comments you may have made (or forgot to have made) during one of the focus group sessions.
In a few weeks, we will share the findings from this survey and the focus groups with stakeholders from Manual Arts. The purpose of this data gathering process is not to determine blame for problems but rather to see where we are now so we can look back later to see what progress we have made in making Manual Arts a more successful school for all students.
A note about confidentiality: you will be prompted to enter your name but doing so is entirely optional. If you choose to identify yourself, it will allow us to contact you if we need to follow up with additional questions. Your name will be kept confidential and will not appear in any reports.
If you have questions about the survey, please contact Ken Futernick, the survey coordinator.
