On Continuing DVN and Other VotersUnite Services

VotersUnite prepared this survey to poll you -- our Daily Voting News readers and others familiar with VotersUnite -- to assist us in determining how we might best continue Daily Voting News and other VotersUnite services.

We knew we would miss John Gideon in a multitude of ways. And, we do.

Not only did John give of his time and expertise to compile and send out DVN nearly every day for over five years, but he also subsidized his work through his pension and disability benefits. In effect, DVN's expansion to its current readership level was made possible through an ongoing grant from John.

Now, VotersUnite must seek other sources of funding to be able to continue DVN, in addition to providing our other resources and services to our community.

After compiling the DVN for more than a month, we have a good idea of what is involved. The time and effort needed to collect, read, organize, and publish the articles cited in DVN on an ongoing basis, as well as continuing to provide the other VotersUnite resources, requires a daily effort of two to three people. If we cannot raise approximately $6,000 per month, we may have to discontinue DVN and other many other VotersUnite services.
