Study title: Factors affecting exercise across the lifespan

I am currently carrying out a study into Factors affecting exercise across the lifespan under the supervision of Dr. Carol Holland. Exercise has been shown to benefit us both physically and mentally yet not all of us take part in exercise despite these benefits, especially as we get older.

The purpose of this study is to find out how you feel about exercise and whether your attitudes influence the amount that you exercise. We are also focusing on whether younger adults exercise more than older adults and whether attitude towards exercise, and the predictors of intention to exercise vary with age.

The study involves you filling out a questionnaire, which will take 20 minutes at most. There are no right or wrong answers, just select the answer that you think is most appropriate.

You have the right to withdraw from the study at any stage and your answers will remain confidential and your name will not be recorded, instead you will be given a participant number.

If you have any questions, please contact me at geraghtj@aston.ac.uk or contact Dr Carol Holland on 0121 204 4063 or email at c.holland1@aston.ac.uk
