1. Introduction
I'm in the beginning stages of evaluating digital asset management systems for a museum archives that already has masses of content. To complicate matters, the museum is in the beginning stages of adapting a collections management system that does many, but not all, functions of a DAMS.
After a lot of research and reflection, we've made a list of our needs and priorities for a DAMS. We hope that users of some of these systems can rate their satisfaction in each area.
Once results are compiled, I plan to share my findings with the archives and archivists' listserv and on the Penn Museum Archives blog (pennmuseumarchives.wordpress.com).
