Here are five questions - what I am interested in is the sense people have of how remote participation at a conference (for example through streamed talks, following twitter hashtags, liveblogging, etc) compares with the 'real thing'. Obviously you will need to make a kind of 'mental average' about both remote participation and the average conference you attend, but I hope that there is still a valid comparison for the sake of discussion.

4. Compared with attending an overseas face to face conference how green would you say remote participation is? (in terms of CO2 emissions, waste, power consumption, etc)

5. Compared with attending a face to face conference, how much time does remote participation take?
