The world of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations that work with children, young people and families is changing. Children’s trusts arrangements and the move away from grant funding to commissioning can offer new opportunities and chances to develop. However, understanding the complexities of these new policies can be challenging and even feel very threatening. The VCS needs to come together to share information and understanding and find innovative ways of working together so that each organisation can continue to work for children, young people and families.

This survey follows on from a similar survey conducted two years ago, published as Under the radar. We want to find out how the current children’s services agenda is impacting on small organisations and what, if anything, has changed for them over the last couple of years. We will share the results and final report with all contributors.

This survey is open to organisations that have an annual income of less than £250,000. It should take 10 or 15 minutes to complete.

To thank you for taking time to complete this you will be automatically entered in a prize draw for a £100 book voucher. The prize draw will take place on 17 November 2008.

We will use the data from this survey to inform a general report and all answers will remain anonymous. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact Jordan Thompson on
