Girl Scouts Go Greener!

As written in the previous issues of The Juliette Gazette, throughout the coming year, GSGV will be introducing activities and events that help girls connect with nature. This program year, we encourage all Girl Scouts and their friends and families to “Go Greener.” We urge you to closely inspect nature, as Thoreau implored, and take action to protect the environment.

Performing community service projects is an integral part of Girl Scouting. Each year, the Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley emphasizes an area of community service. The council community service project for 2007-2008 is “Go Greener.” All Girl Scouts, from Daisies to Seniors, can participate in making our communities and world a better place to live by going greener!

Have you helped clean-up a neighborhood park or playground?
Do you conserve water at home, work and school? How many paper or plastic cups and plates do you use in one week? Do you recycle or compost? Our world is a fragile environment and needs our protection. This is your opportunity to get involved and make a difference.

Please take a few minutes to tell us about your troop's project(s) to help Girl Scouts Go Greener!
