TNQ Local Food Survey - Hospitality Businesses

The purpose of the TNQ Local Food Supply Chain Research Project is to work with tourism and hospitality businesses,local farmers, producers as well as state and local agencies to develop food and agricultural related tourism experiences and to establish a local food supply chain to support the use and trade of locally produced food by the local community, visitors and commercial businesses particularly in the food service, tourism and hospitality sectors.

The data collection will provide the framework for the development a regions food strategy and distribution plan and may inform future marketing and branding associated with local produce.

In addition to the practical benefits of this project to your region, it is also part of an on-going research program that seeks to facilitate knowledge building around tourism, food production and agribusiness.

What are participants’ responsibilities?
As a survey respondent participation in this research is voluntary and your consent to take part in this research is implied by completion of the questionnaire.

What are the researcher’s responsibilities?
The data collected is compiled to provide a regional data set. Individual information will remain confidential and will not be provided to third parties.


In undertaking this research we are required to follow the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and University policies and procedures. This research has been approved by the Southern Cross University Human Research Ethics Committee. The approval number is: ECN-10-104
