We the undersigned ask the University of Michigan Regents to OPPOSE Rackham’s Continuous Enrollment Policy. The administration’s lack of transparency in designing the policy, especially their failure to include a wide variety of voices in its development, has generated numerous concerns among faculty, students, and department administrators. We object to the top down manner in which this policy was developed, are unconvinced that it will achieve its stated goals, and are deeply concerned that the policy will abandon rather than aid those graduate students who would most benefit from institutional support.
