American Whitewater is working to identify the range of preferred whitewater boating flows for the mainstem and tributaries of the Upper Colorado River above Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

We have developed this survey so individuals can report their runs and represent recreational interests in the BLM's Resource Management Plan revisions and Wild and Scenic Rivers designation process in 2007. Our goal is to utilize information from the survey to help us quantify flow preferences for whitewater boating, which will identify low, acceptable, and optimum flows for whitewater recreation experiences. The information will provide us with data necessary to evaluate user experiences and propose any modifications to the Bureau of Land Management Resource Management Plan.

Please pass along the word about this survey to fellow boaters. The more responses we get the more useful our results will be. We will publish results of this survey for the benefit of paddlers with an interest in recreational opportunities on this river.
