West Michigan Agriculture Viability Survey

1. Waiver of Consent

The Land Policy Institute at Michigan State University, in partnership with the West Michigan Strategic Alliance and Michigan State University Extension, is conducting a research study on factors that contribute to or detract from agricultural viability in Michigan. This online survey of farmers in West Michigan is designed to collect information on which farming practices and efforts contribute to a farm's economic success. This study will help devise a strategic plan for West Michigan to grow a sustainable agricultural economic sector. Initially targeted counties include: Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo and Ottawa.

Responses to this online survey will help guide future policy decisions and funding allocations for agriculture at the state and regional levels in Michigan. The survey takes only 20-30 minutes to complete. Participants must be 18 years of age to participate. Please, only one survey per farm.

Participation in this research is voluntary. Beginning the survey on the following page indicates your consent to participate. You have the right to withdraw at any time or to refuse to answer any particular question. All responses will be anonymous. Incomplete surveys may be dropped from the study.
