13th Annual At-Home Dad's Convention Session Survey

1. This survey has been created to help us better plan the sessions for the 13th Annual At-Home Dad's Convention. Please take a moment to complete the survey so we can provide you with the sessions that will be most beneficial to you, the at-home dad.

The survey will consist of questions which will include a session title and a very brief description of the session. Please let us know if the session interests you. Also, please let us know what you want to learn from the session, so we can direct our facilitators on what specifically to address. Thank you.



Session one:

"Teaching children the value of money"

This session would give ideas on ways to teach your children what money is worth, and that money is something to be earned through chores, allowances, and sometimes as gifts.
2. Session two

"Early Childhood education, what we can teach our children at home to prepare them for school"

Session would address what needs to be taught to our young children at home to prepare them for school and give them a head start in their learning.
3. Session three

"Home Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness"
Session would be led by local Fire Department.

This session would provide basic home safety information for you and to teach your children, addressing cooking fires, electrical fires, and creating and implementing emergency evacuation plans for your homes.
4. Session four

"Basic Hair Braiding"

This session is led by a former hairstylist who will teach some of the basic popular hair braids for your daughters.
5. Session five

"Dads With Daughters"

This session would address issues faced by at-home dads with daughters. Topics would include talking to your daughter about "feminine issues", dating, and personal relationships.
6. Session six.

Creating and maintaining child ID kits.
Sessions would be led by local law enforcement.

This session would teach how to build a child id kit including DNA samples and finger printing, and how to maintain the kit.
7. Session seven

"Fathers and Sons"
Session would be an open discussion session focusing on things that we were taught by our fathers and what we should pass on to our sons. Session would have a few focused topics to be addressed, and efforts would be made to keep the discussion on those specific topics.
8. The "What about me?" session is an open forum discussion where at-home dad's can openly discuss issues faced by them at home with their families or out in society.
