1. Camp T.A.G. - Nationwide Survey

 
Camp T.A.G. is a 5-day, half-day camp, which will provide a safe place for food-allergic children and their siblings to have fun with no worries about having an allergic reaction. It will be a safe place for our children, ages 3-12, to meet other children who share the same conditions and know they are not alone!

Camp T.A.G. will provide community outreach and educational opportunities for children with food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, their siblings, and parents. There will be age-appropriate sports activities, arts, crafts, games, and much more. It will be 95% fun and 5% educational. There will be an educational curriculum on food allergies, which is being designed by medical, lay, and restaurant professionals who specialize in food allergies.

This nationwide research survey will help to determine both the desire for and the need of a special camp for children with life-threatening food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis (EE), and celiac disease along with non-allergic siblings.

15. If you have a food-allergic teenager (ages 13-19), would he/she volunteer to work as a Teen Camp Counselor during the camp week in your area? Teen Camp Counselors MUST have food allergies, EE, celiac disease, OR be a non-allergic sibling that has lived with it and gets it. (Remember, this will launch 2011, so if your child is in the 10-12 age range now, in 2011 they could be a Teen Camp Counselor).
16. Camp T.A.G. will provide a Parent Education Day to present the curriculum taught to the children and to answer any questions PRIOR to their camp site. Would you attend a Parent Education Day or prefer to read materials that will describe what the children will be learning (and doing) throughout their week at camp?
17. How much would you pay to send your child(ren) to Camp T.A.G.? There will be a discounted rate for families with more than one child. (Fees cover rental venue, insurance, staff nurse each day, guest speakers, fruit, juice/water, activities/equipment, crafts, t-shirts, and entertainment).
18. When your child is old enough (if not already), would you send your food-allergic child(ren) and siblings to a 1-week overnight food allergy camp located in certain locations throughout the United States for ages 10-17?
