The Beacon Street Girls are five BFFs who are the stars of a best-selling book series (and this website) for preteen girls.
But BSG stories don't focus on just the girls; there are stories about their other friends, families and classmates. Some of those classmates are boys, which has raised questions a number of questions about dating and kissing. In fact, girls who have read all 14 books (currently, there are more coming soon) frequently write in, advocating for a big injection of romance.
We'd like to get your help here as we work on some of the next books in the series and stories and activities for the website. Tell us what you think. Is 12 (the age of our characters)too young for "going out?" Is it OK to have our readers exploring these kinds of issues through our fictional characters before they might be ready to explore these issues in real life? You tell us.
