MHANe: Survey to Evaluate Developing an Online Community for Fundraisers
1. MHANe Online Community Survey - Introduction
MHANe is interested in building a unique online community to help all of us who fundraise for mental health, addiction and intellectual disability focused charities.
Our goal: draw more philanthropic $ to our field. With trend data showing less funding available to simply operate an organization, we want to mutually support each other’s efforts, increase donor awareness of the issues, and increase overall support.
We wonder if creating a space exclusively devoted to professionals involved in fundraising in these areas will be valuable. And therein lies the essential question for this survey:
If we build it, will you use it?
Does a mental health fundraiser have distinct challenges and issues that this online forum could address? Or do current online and offline resources meet your needs already?
Please help us by completing this survey. We believe it will take between 5 and 8 minutes and the results will determine how MHANe invests its resources to further our shared goals of finding more philanthropic support for our field.
Background: some of you are involved with social networking already – Facebook, Linked In, maybe even Twitter. And many of you have been participants in professional list-serves to exchange information with colleagues in your specific fields.
The online community MHANe is considering would help our member charities and many others seeking to improve organizational capacity. Some of us are well versed in fundraising and others in our field feel entirely out to sea. This online community will be a place to pose and answer questions, share experiences and best practices, and find resources.
The first few survey questions ask how you perceive MHANe's current services for those who are members of our organization. It then moves quickly to the portion of the survey addressing the development of a new online community.
At the end of the survey you can click through to the MHANe website to learn more about our organization. Thank you for participating. We look forward to your feedback.
