A new generation of rapidly emerging companies is reshaping the global economic landscape. Through their vision they pioneer new markets, develop innovative business models, and generate economic and social opportunities around the world.
We recognize these dynamic companies as New Champions. Why? They have a proven track record of success and have demonstrated their potential to attain global leadership within the next 5 to 10 years.
The World Economic Forum has initiated the community of New Champions to acknowledge this next generation of industry leaders. The Forum provides a privileged platform tailored to New Champion companies and attuned to their growth aspirations across new regions, markets, cultures and regulatory systems.
Over 200 premier companies from around the world have joined as members since the community was launched in 2007.
At the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, the flagship event of the community, they join their peers to shape and define an agenda of growth with fresh ideas, innovative business models and new technologies. This year this meeting will take place in Dalian, People's Republic of China from 10-12 September 2009.
To propose a candidate or nominate your own company please fill in this form. The Company will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
1. Revenue: The Company should have reached a critical size allowing expansion outside the home market. While sectoral differences exist, Companies will be expected to have annual revenue of US$ 100 millions to US$5 billions.
2. Growth: The Company should be characterised by a high annual revenue growth rate relative to their industry and region but typically at least 15% year-on-year.
3. Corporate Strategy: The Company should have a strong presence in the regional markets, and should be expanding their traditional boundaries.
4. Qualitative measures: The Company will further be assessed on its reputation and business model.
