This is a letter of support for the Blue Ridge Poison Center.
Poison experts at the Blue Ridge Poison Center provide immediate and free emergency poison services to the people in 54 Virginia counties. Last year 9 million dollars in healthcare costs were saved by helping 26,000 people over the telephone who were exposed to poisons. These savings occur when unnecessary trips to the hospital are prevented. More than 9,000 callers requested poison information, which may have prevented additional poisoning incidents.
I am in favor of the full and continued funding of the poison center. In my own words, I would like to voice my support by adding:
