1. Introducing the National Survey of Representation in Outdoor Leadership
This national survey of representation in outdoor leadership has been set up by the Tanya Bocking Memorial Fund. The Fund was created in 2005 to help new leaders in outdoor education to become outstanding leaders by making grants towards further training.
(There are only five questions, plus an opportunity to make comments if you wish, and it will take just a couple of minutes to complete)
The Fund aims to increase equity in outdoor leadership. When making grants, we give preference to applicants who are under-represented in the outdoor sector.
Everyone we speak to agrees intuitively that under-representation, amongst women and people from BME backgrounds for example, is an issue. However, the industry has no actual data to work with. The purpose of this survey is to gather that missing data.
With your help, and just a few minutes of your time, we can build up an accurate picture. We don’t need contact details. You can complete the survey anonymously. If you would like a copy of the results of the survey, please include your email address at the end.
There are no right or wrong answers, and this survey is NOT designed as a test of your employment procedures! It is simply an attempt to get a snapshot of representation across the industry.
