As the Principal of Wisconsin Dells High School for the past 11 years, I have promoted the use of data as a means to improve our school. During those years, we have annually surveyed the students and staff, but have not included a survey for our parents and guardians. One of the main reasons why schools do not include parents or guardians within their data review process is based on the lack of response high schools receive when requesting parents or guardians to complete surveys. The lower the response, the less meaningful the data is in the overall data review process.
