1. Introduction to Young UK Ambassadors

The British Youth Council is looking to recruit young people from across the United Kingdom to take on the role of Young UK Ambassadors for 1 year from April 2010. Ambassadors will help to ensure the central role of young people in international decision-making to secure lasting and positive change for young people in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to get the views and concerns of young people heard at the highest level on the most pressing issues. As an Ambassador you will:

• Gather the views of young people through consultations, research and discussions, and working through local networks in the UK
• Work to make sure these views are represented at international events and forums
• Have the chance to represent the UK by participating in an international forum or event and engage with policy-makers
• Build your skills, including in communications, research and advocacy
• Be part of a growing network determined to bring about positive change for young people

To apply to be a Young UK Ambassador please answer the following questions and give us a little bit of information about yourself.

Deadline for applications is Midnight, Sunday 7th February
