Scoping the Landscape for the ICT Strategy - General
1. Scoping the Landscape Survey
Dear Colleague,
To help us get started on the University's ICT Strategy (see http://www.ict.ox.ac.uk/) and to ensure that all aspects are covered, we ask you to take a few moments to complete this quick survey to scope the landscape in which the strategy will have to exist, survive, and thrive.
Please complete the survey by the 18th November.
We ask you to submit any thoughts, in relation to the questions below, from your own area of expertise. Do not try to think too generally but instead try to answer reflecting your particular subject area (e.g. academic, researcher, teacher, administrator, student, IT specialist, etc.).
For each of the questions we would like you to record any factors (imminent or predicted, external or internal to Oxford) which might have a direct short or long-term bearing on the ICT Strategy. Also, please note what you believe will, or should be, the outcome of each factor on the University's IT Strategy. For example under 'legislative' you could note the Freedom of Information Act, which is a current factor which the ICT Strategy should accommodate, but you may be aware of some future suggested legislation which may also have an impact.
We would prefer this to be inclusive and imaginative, so do enter any thoughts you have, however speculative. Feel free to answer from an 'Oxford perspective only' or from an 'International' perspective’ (both would be useful).
Finally, all the questions are optional so if you cannot think of anything useful to add, do not worry!
Yours
Prof Paul Jeffreys
Acting ICT Strategy Director
