Family Support & Training Needs Assessment

1. Peer to Peer Support

PLEASE NOTE: We are being helped by a number of agencies in the state to distribute this survey and we realize you might receive this survey more than once. Please only respond to this survey one time. Thanks!

Some parents feel it is helpful to talk to someone who's "been there." If you are one of those parents, we need your help to know what is the best way to connect you to other parents in the state who know what it's like to be the parent of a child with special health and developmental needs.

1. Do you feel talking with other parents of children with special health and/or developmental needs is or would be helpful to you?
2. If you answered no to the question #1, please go to question #6.

What are the easiest and most comfortable ways for you to meet other parents when you need to talk to someone who's "been there?"
3. Many people like support meetings, however they tend to be difficult to keep going due to schedules and burn out. If the Family to Family Center held parent support meetings, how often should they be scheduled?
4. Do you think support meetings should be diagnosis specific?
5. Would you be interested in volunteering to provide parent support for families in Alaska? If so, please give us your name, mailing address, phone number and email so we can contact you. Thanks!
6. Not interested in volunteering - but would like to receive information on programs and upcoming trainings, please give us your name, mailing address, phone and email so we can contact you. Thanks!
