Hello, my name is Michael Franco and I am a doctoral student at the California School of Professional Psychology/Alliant International University in San Francisco. I am conducting a research study that will look at the relationship between masculine related attitudes, beliefs and behavior and mental well-being. I am requesting your participation by completing the following survey that will take approximately 30 minutes. On this survey you will be asked to choose a statement that best describes your attitudes, behaviors, thoughts and feelings regarding male gender norms. You will then be asked to choose a statement that best describes your current feelings. At the beginning of the survey you will be asked to provide your age, ethnicity, religion, relationship status, zip code of residence, highest level of education and sexual orientation. Your participation in this study will be anonymous. You will not be linked to the survey you complete, and there will be no way of knowing who filled out each survey. You will not be asked to provide any identifying information that will link you to the survey you complete. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary however if you choose to take this survey please answer all of the questions. Again, your participation is GREATLY appreciated and will contribute to the further knowledge about the psychology of masculinity.
If you would like a summary of the results sent to you, please contact me via email with your name and mailing address. Your name and mailing address information will in no way be linked to the survey you complete and will only be used to mail a copy of the survey to you.
