YSBP Intake Form
The Youth Suicide and Bullying Prevention (YSBP) program was created by Mental Health America of Hawai`i to combat the high levels of bullying and suicidality among Hawaii’s youth. The goals of the YSBP program are to increase participant’s knowledge and understanding of bullying and suicide, facilitate prevention and intervention strategies, and equip youth with the tools necessary to give and receive help. Based on national and local data as well as the experiences of local youth, this training enables participants to identify warning signs, help others who are depressed or suicidal, define the different types of bullying, and help bystanders understand how they can intervene.
Sponsored by the City & County of Honolulu, Mental Health America of Hawai`i intends to deliver the Youth Suicide and Bullying Prevention training to 2,600 middle and high school-aged youth, and adults who work with them. This free and evidence-based training will be limited to 20-30 people per group and is 2 hours long. It can be split up in 2 sessions or modified to fit most scheduling needs.
