The Strath-Logies Victorian Youth Week Awards 2020

Strathbogie Shire Council is excited to be seeking nominations for our first ever Strath-Logies Youth Awards as a part of Victorian Youth Week 2020. These awards and the award ceremony are about celebrating the achievements and showcasing the talents of our young people aged 12-25.

There are 5 categories, each with a $500 first prize attached. You can either nominate yourself or you can nominate someone else for an award. To nominate simply respond to the questions below. You can email any supporting information (photos/videos/newspaper article etc) or emailing a link to a short 60 second nomination video to info@strathbogie.vic.gov.au with "Strath-Logies nomination and the name of the person or group you are nominating" in the subject line.

Applications close midnight March 28th. Finalists will be selected and notified on March 31st and published on Strathbogie Shire Council's facebook page on April 1st.

The Strath-Logies Voting Panel will consist of members of Strathbogie Shire Council, council staff and members of the Evolve Youth Committee and will use the following criteria to judge the nominations.

Award Criteria:

- the nominated person/s lives in Strathbogie Shire Council and is aged anywhere from 12 - 25 inclusive at the time of nomination.

- the nominated person/s level of excellence, contribution, achievement or exposure in their chosen field.

Please note Strath-Logies nominations can be for either individuals or groups of young (eg. a band or environmental action group) but the majority of the groups members must be from Strathbogie Shire if being nominated as a group.

Young Entrepreneurs - recognising young people's skills and achievements in small business etc.

Emerging Artists - recognising young people's talents and achievements in the arts, music etc.

Environmental Warriors - recognising young people's contribution to environmental action or stewardship etc.

People's Choice Awards - this category is our open category that recognises young people for their excellence/contributions/achievements or exposure in their chosen field.
