Scholarship Application
Deadline for Submission: November 1, 2022

Les Dames d'Escoffier Philadelphia will award two $2,500 scholarships to women pursuing an education in the Philadelphia area related to a profession in food, beverage or hospitality.

To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an actively enrolled student in an academic program in a food-related field in the Philadelphia area in Fall of 2022, or an incoming student for Spring 2023 (with acceptance letter).

- Have a clear notion of why she wishes to receive this scholarship and how it will benefit her academic and professional goals.
- Submit the completed application form by the November 1st deadline.

- Submit a resume and current school transcript.
- Submit two (2) references.

- One scholarship will be given to a traditional student (of any age). And one scholarship will be given to a woman who is either a first-generation college attendee, attending college or culinary school as a returning or older student, or entering college or culinary school as a second career.

Les Dames d’Escoffier Philadelphia brings together members of the community around food-related events. For instance, in 2018 our chapter created a Salon Dinner that brought together women chefs and purveyors to create an incredible meal that was shared while discussing a variety of topics relevant to women in the food industry. Other typical events include targeted topic workshops, panel discussions and food-and farming related parties, meals and roundtables. Such events are designed to educate the public about food-related issues, highlight the skills of our members, raise awareness of issues of importance to women in the food and farming trades or promote networking and knowledge sharing between members and the public. These events are always open to the public and are priced at a level that makes participation accessible to a wide range of people.

In 300 words or less, describe an event you would plan for Les Dames Philadelphia. Your planned event should occur within the greater Philadelphia area, have a specific target issue or goal, a plan for what will happen during the event, and be economically and structurally feasible. Provide specific details such as how many people you would like to attend, what the ticket price would be, where it would be held and who your target audience would be. We are always looking for great event ideas, so we may just ask you to help us plan your event in the near future!
