Introduction

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC). If you are interested in donating time but not becoming a sexual assault counselor, call (831) 373-3955.

Before you begin completing the application, please understand that we require applicants to be over 18 years old, to have their own transportation, a cell phone, internet access and have a high school diploma or the equivalent. It is the policy of MCRCC to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees, applicants for employment, and volunteers. All employment practices and services are administered in a manner designed to ensure that employees, applicants for employment or volunteers are not subjected to discrimination on the basis of age, race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, medical condition, disability, marital status, religious or political preferences or union affiliation. Please note that MCRCC reserves the right to refuse applicants into its volunteer training. Completion of advocate training does not guarantee certification as a sexual assault counselor, nor does it guarantee a volunteer assignment. You may find further information on our website under Volunteer Opportunities here: https://www.mtryrapecrisis.org/volunteer-opportunities

This training is being facilitated remotely via a hybrid model, some sessions are in person and some sessions are being conducted via Zoom. If potential volunteers have accessibility concerns with the remote platform, please reach out at andy@mtryrapecrisis.org and Andy, our Crisis Intervention Services Manager will work to address accessibility concerns.
