We are proud to announce that Pride Swim Club is returning as a permanent weekly program to the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre. The program’s is made possible with the assistance of Tasmanian Government’s LGBTIQ Grant program.

The Pride Swim Club is a weekly inclusive Swim group for all members of LGBTIA+ Community 16 years and above, running every Monday during the school terms from the 31st of July.

The club is predominantly for swimmers’ intermediate level, but all are welcome to apply.

The Pride Swim Club will be a small group program with a single teacher. We are striving to make the lessons inclusive space with the teacher identifying as queer.

The Pride Swim Club is part of the City of Hobart’s commitment to Inclusion and Equity. There are many barriers that prevent people from participating fully in community life and we as a community swim centre are trying to act to be part of a more inclusive and equitable city.

Important information: that filling the enrolment form does not guarantee a place in the program.

The program has limited available spots. Enrolments will be prioritised based on time of submission. Those who did not receive a spot will be automatically added to a waiting list for the program and be contacted when a spot becomes available.

There is no lock-in commitment to the Pride Swim Club and enrolment can be cancelled at any time by emailing dkhacaquatic@hobartcity.com.au

Please read our Absence Policy for details regarding missed classes and credits.
