Introduction to Patrol Rifle November 1-4, 2016

INTRODUCTION TO PATROL RIFLE

This four day course will teach students patrol rifle nomenclature, care and cleaning, zeroing of optics and iron sights, ballistics, and ammo selection. Various live fire drills will be conducted including shooting while moving, alternate shooting positions, proper use of cover, support side shooting, utilizing a hand held light with a long gun, reloading drills, malfunction clearing and transitions to a secondary weapon. Standards drills will be conducted under time with a day/night qualification course shot on the final day for score.



Required equipment: A patrol rifle with sling(as per AG guidelines defined as a rifle with a muzzle velocity greater than 2,000 ft/sec), 5 rifle magazines, rifle magazine pouches, handgun and 3 magazines( belt/holster/mag pouches) , flashlight, 800 rounds of rifle ammunition, 100 rounds of handgun ammunition, rifle cleaning kit, eyes, ears and proper range attire.
