He informed you that several of your employees may be laid off. One particular employee is a single father supporting three small children, and you and he have become friends over the past few years. You heard through the grapevine that he had been offered a position with your competitor and was thinking of leaving. Because of all these factors, you approach him and warn him about the potential for layoffs and encourage him to take the position with the other company. Is this ethical?
The company picnic is coming up, and your supervisor has made it known that although attendance isn't required, she believes everyone in your department should be there. One teammate jokes about how upset the female teammate will be if she has to watch sports during lunch.
