Darley Dale Town Council Flooding Survey - To be completed by 27th March 2026

What this survey is about

Darley Dale Town Council (DDTC) would like to understand the scale and impact of flooding in Darley Dale, how it has changed over the last 3 years or so and would like to quantify this using this survey. The results of the survey may help the Town Council's response to the Local Plan review and when considering future proposed developments.

The Local Plan is currently under review. It is the way by which Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC) decides how many, and where new houses will be built in the Derbyshire Dales for around the next 15 years. Compared to the housing numbers in the 2017 plan which will be superseded by the new plan following the review, the number of houses to be built across the whole of Derbyshire Dales looks likely to be more or less doubled by the new government.

Darley Dale will be expected to build more of the extra housing required than in the current Local Plan. Flood risk can be influential in objecting to applications for new developments, so it is very important that the Town Council understands flooding patterns in Darley Dale, this survey will help achieve that.

We invite all households in Darley Dale to complete this survey and thank you for your help.
