Rockhampton, it’s time to put our collective thinking caps on to create a 21st century city – and we’re starting with the riverside.

Rockhampton Regional Council will be lobbying state and federal bodies to support the recovery of the Region with a riverside development.

While some design work has been undertaken to make the riverside more attractive with improved lighting, furniture and pathways, Mayor Margaret Strelow is asking residents to dream big.

We want to see ideas that don’t just provide an added attraction when people visit. We want these ideas to be the reason they visit in the first place, ideas that will be the envy of the rest of the country.

Whether it’s an idea for interactive public art, light installations, a theme integrated throughout the riverside, a unique water play area or something else that will captivate – let us know below.

While we admire what regions like Townsville and Gladstone have done, we want to think beyond this and look for original and unique ideas that are truly inspiring.

DREAM BIG!
