This consultation is being held following the submission of the proposed Dorset Innovation Park Local Development Order (LDO). An LDO is a distinct planning process which establishes the principle of development of a site for certain uses and can establish early controls or principles for how development might proceed. Once granted, the process for securing detailed approval of proposed buildings is much quicker, so long as they comply with the Order.

This consultation is technical in nature in order to ensure that there is sufficient consideration of the technical assessment work which underpins the principle of development and the subsequent controls which feature in the Design Guide and Order. We recognise that not all respondents will have technical knowledge or the time to review the evidence base. As such, the consultation boards present an overview of the submitted proposals and the approach taken by the project team to ensure that development is appropriate and responds to the opportunities and constraints. Therefore, if you don’t wish to respond to the individual questions there is an opportunity to leave general comments.
