Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim (CMPI) envisions a Maya-led agroforestry community on its property along the Beltline Trail in 68111. CMPI understands the importance of climate resilience and is seeking partnerships to develop a Climate Resilience Plan for its North Omaha site and surrounding community.
This effort is made possible through a grant from the Climate Smart Communities Initiative and other community partners. Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim is leading the plan in partnership with several community members, local organizations, and community leaders who call North Omaha home.
North Omaha sits on land with a long Indigenous history, now also home to Maya Q'anjob'al community members alongside a Black community whose roots here stretch back over a century. These communities have all endured government-sanctioned displacement and disinvestment, which cannot go unrecognized.
Your input will help us create a plan that reflects the real needs and experiences of people living and engaging in North Omaha. Please share this survey across your communities, including friends, family, and colleagues.
The survey takes about 5-7 minutes to complete.
Your responses are confidential. Your responses are only reported in aggregate and will never be linked to your name. All questions are optional, and you can choose to discontinue the survey at any time.
If you have questions or need assistance completing the survey, please contact Joey Gruber at
