Survey Objective:

AWIC is collecting information from local manufacturers in order to better understand the labour force needs and potential challenges you are facing in your business. This information will be aggregated and shared with community partners (schools, college, employment centres, municipalities) so that they aware of the labour needs of the local manufacturing sector and can help develop the workforce.

This year we are conducting a shorter version of the previous survey.  It includes 12 questions designed to capture hiring trends over the past 12 months, separations over the past 12 months and plans to hire over the coming year.

The online survey will be live from December 10th -January 25, 2019. Once the data is gathered it will be shared in aggregated form.

Your input is essential to help: 
  • Ensure that local employment and training programs better align with the local labour market requirements; and
  • Contribute to efforts to ensure the availability of a highly skilled and trained workforce in our Northern communities.
Completing the Survey:
  • Although you might receive a request to complete the survey from more than one source, we ask that you complete the survey only once.
  • Please answer all questions as accurately and completely as possible.
  • Please have a person who is familiar with issues associated with hiring and your workforce issues complete the survey.
  • The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete.
Confidentiality:

The survey has been designed to protect your identity. All answers given will be treated in strict confidence and they will be used for statistical purposes and published in aggregate form only.

A copy of the results will be made available at www.awic.ca early in the new year. Please provide your email address at the end of the survey if you would like to have a copy sent to you.
