Engineering Teacher Pedagogy: Using INSPIRES to Support Integration of Engineering Design in Science and Technology Classrooms

I. INTRODUCTION/PURPOSE:
I am being asked to participate in a pilot study for a research project. The purpose of this pilot study is to determine the validity and reliability of two achievement tests, the unit test for the INSPIRES Hemodialysis module. I am being asked to volunteer because I am enrolled in an engineering course at UMBC, or I am a secondary biology or technology education teacher. My involvement in this study will begin when I agree to take one of the two tests and will end when I turn in my completed test. Approximately 200 people will be invited to participate.

II. PROCEDURES:
As a student participant in this study, I will be asked to complete a test. No direct or indirect identification will be written with responses to questions. My participation in the study will begin when I take the test and will end upon completion of the test.
