WILDERNESS LEADERSHIP SEMINARS - Registration and Participation Questionnaire

The following questions are to help understand your interest in participating in the Wilderness Leadership Seminar at the “Believe the Promise” Pathfinder Camporee, August 5-11, 2024. Your accurate response to all activities is appreciated so we can plan for these activities correctly. Some activities have limited participant numbers and will be filled on a first come basis.

The Wilderness Hut is our session's meeting location at the camporee.

4.Please indicate if you want to complete the “Camp Planning & Programming” Pathfinder Award.

(If selecting YES, bring pages 136-198 of the Pathfinder Leadership Award Manual. Limited copies will be available)(Required.)
5.Please indicate if you want to take two-mile hike (hiking skills/leadership), Thursday 1:00-3:00 pm (meet at Wilderness Hut**)(Required.)
6.Please indicate if you want to participate in “survival” experience: preparations at bivouac site, Thursday 3:00-5:00 pm

(Meet at Wilderness Hut.** You must participate to do sleep-out but sleep-out is not required to participate.)(Required.)
7.Please indicate if you want to participate in “survival” experience: survival skills/sleep-out. Thursday 9:00 pm after evening program

(You may use whatever equipment you wish for the bivouac. For the best learning experience minimum equipment would only be used (without sleeping bag or mattress.) Materials for sheltering and fires will be provided. Hike to bivouac site after evening program.)(Required.)
8.Please indicate if you want to participate in the breakfast Campfire Cookout (“survival” meal), Friday 6:30 am at bivouac site

9.Please indicate if you want to participate in Wilderness Honors Presentations, Friday 8:30-11:00, initially all meet in Wilderness Hut**

This question is to guide us on which honors will be presented by an Honor Coach. Honor presentations will be for 2.5 hours, describing and explaining the honor requirements. It may be possible to accomplish some of the requirements for specific honors. NO HONORS CAN BE COMPLETED FOR AWARD DURING THIS SESSION. The following honors are available:

11.Please indicate if you want to participate in the Friday Camping Lunch: Backpacking meals (stoves and fires, food and supplies provided), Friday 12:30-1:30. Meet in Wilderness Hut(Required.)
12.Please indicate if you want to participate in the Simulated Search and Rescue Activity, Friday 3:00-6:00. Off camporee site at Keyhole State Park(Required.)
13.Please indicate if you want to participate in the Water Safety/Rescue Demonstrations, Friday 3:00-6:00. Off camporee site at Keyhole State Park.(Required.)
