1. Welcome to this survey

The primary purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain your views on the current situation with performance-based design for fire and its application within your building regulatory system. There are also some questions on the use risk analysis is support of performance-based design for fire in the future.

You should complete this survey for the country in which you are working. If you work in more than one country, and would like to provide feedback for each country, you will need to complete separate surveys for each country.

This information is being collected by Professor Brian Meacham of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the USA as part on an international study. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

All responses are anonymous (no names, affiliations, etc.). Responses will be used to compare different perspectives within a country (for example, difference between fire safety engineer and fire official) and between countries (for example, situation in Spain as compared with New Zealand).

If you would like to provide feedback in addition to the questions in the survey, please feel free to contact Professor Meacham at bmeacham@wpi.edu. Please include the following words in the subject line: PBD Survey. Your name and affiliation will not be reported unless you provide permission to do so.

The survey may take between 10 to 20 minutes, depending on amount of detail response you choose to provide. Thank you.
