The Saint Cloud Area Planning Organization (APO), along with consulting firm WSB & Associates and local transportation providers and stakeholders, are in the process of developing a Regional Transportation Coordinating Council (RTCC) in Central Minnesota. The proposed RTCC would serve as a forum for transit providers and those who serve transit-dependent populations to discuss common issues and work cooperatively to solve mutual problems related to, but not limited to, service gaps, resources, and access.
To truly serve the transportation market - especially those most in need of a public transportation option such as older adults, persons with disabilities, persons with low income, students, new Americans, veterans, and others - transit service will need to become more regional, with easier connections for passengers traveling between one provider and the next.
The ultimate goal of the RTCC is to improve mobility for everyone by making it easier for people to use public transportation services for long-distance trips and/or trips that involve multiple cities/towns or transit providers. Other organizations in other parts of the state are also working on establishing RTCCs in their respective areas.
In order to accomplish this, we need your input. Please complete the following five question survey to help guide the development of this organization. Your answers will help determine how the RTCC would be structured and how it would function in Central Minnesota.
