Trash, recycling and yard waste/composting services have become an essential part of our daily lives. The Washtenaw County Water Resources - Solid Waste Division wants to hear how they impact your life.

The 2015-16 Solid Waste Plan Amendment request by Advanced Disposal to expand the existing footprint of the Arbor Hills landfill in Salem Township will provide an opportunity to update goals and objectives of solid waste management in Washtenaw County and to review the request by Advanced Disposal. The Amendment will be brought before all municipalities for approval. A Solid Waste Planning Committee has been created as designated under State law.

The main purpose of the Solid Waste Management Plan is to protect public health, to assure adequate disposal capacity for all waste generated within County borders, and to establish goals for waste prevention and recycling. The Solid Waste Management Plan builds on the infrastructure currently in place throughout Washtenaw County, while seeking to increase waste diversion.

Since you are the most important part of our community, we ask for about 10 minutes or less of your time for a quick survey. We want to ensure current and future services continue to meet your expectations. The information gathered here will be used as part of the County’s Solid Waste Management Planning process.

Completed surveys will be entered to win a $50 gift card to a retail or restaurant location of the winners' choosing (3 prizes total).

Again, thank you for your participation!  If you have any questions, please contact Jon Tulman at tulmanj@ewashtenaw.org or (734) 222-3810.
