The Regional Municipality of York, with the support of the York Region Agricultural Advisory Liaison Group, is developing an agriculture and agri-food strategy to provide direction for the long-term growth of the agricultural and food production sector in York Region.

By gaining an understanding of the economic impact of the sector, and by identifying sub-sectors with significant potential, this strategy will enhance the Region’s capacity to further support the growth of the agriculture and agri-food sector.

As part of this process, we are contacting agriculture and food producers, consumers, businesses and organizations to gather insights into the opportunities and barriers for the agri-food sector.
