Young people shaping policy, research and practice

Key messages on engaging young people in health

In health policy, advocacy campaigns, research and practice young people can be invisible or framed in negative ways. In 2025 AAAH are working to change this trend. We invite you to share your main points and any research or case studies that show best practice examples. Your answers will be used to shape our advocacy events and policy briefs to advise and advocate to government.

In February 2025, AAAH are presenting a Public Health Staff-Wide Webinar for the Department of Health on Youth Engagement in Health. We are also developing a policy brief to raise awareness of the need to include, not overlook, young people in health and wellbeing policy, research and practice.

We want to hear from members of AAAH about what key messages and evidence we should be sharing with them to influence research, policy and practice. The results of this survey will be used to develop key messages and collate evidence. The survey is anonymous.
