Kittery + Portsmouth Naval Shipyard JLUS Survey

The Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) is a collaborative planning effort between the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Town of Kittery and the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission (SMPDC) to protect and preserve military readiness while supporting continued community growth and economic development. The study area includes Kittery and Portsmouth specifically, as well as the general region incorporating York, Strafford and Rockingham counties. The study involves looking at 24 potential compatibility factors (see below), however feedback during the public engagement process is largely emphasizing concerns and challenges related to local and regional transportation.

Your feedback in this survey will help inform recommendations developed in the final JLUS report with an emphasis on local and regional transportation. These may include changes to policy, recommended funding sources for transportation projects and improvements, or recommended follow-on studies.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and all responses are confidential. 

In addition to the survey, you are invited to join us for an open house to ask any questions about the Joint Land Use Study and, most importantly, to share your ideas about opportunities and solutions for some of the concerns raised during the public engagement process so far.
