Putnam County Transportation Improvements Survey 

The Putnam County Joint Transportation Committee was formed in late 2017 under the direction of Putnam County Executive Randy Porter.  The Committee is composed of elected officials, engineers and planners representing Putnam County, the Towns of Algood, Baxter and Monterey, and the City of Cookeville.  The purpose of the Committee was to develop a comprehensive, multi-jurisdictional transportation improvement plan.  Over the past several months the committee has met to identify transportation improvement needs for the county and its four (4) municipalities.  The identified needs consist of projects that would be wholly state funded, state and local funded, and wholly locally funded. To determine which of these projects are the most important to the citizens of Putnam County, the Committee elected to utilize a survey to solicit public input.  This survey deals with state funded and state and local funded projects.
