FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY – APPLY NOW TO HOST AUSTRALIA DAY ACTIVITIES IN YOUR VILLAGE!

Progress Associations, Hall Committees or community groups within the Gunnedah Shire villages are invited to apply for up to $500 (each village) to enable community celebrations for Australia Day, 26 January 2021.

Each village has their own atmosphere and community that is unique. The Australia Day Working Group, through Gunnedah Shire Council, has made money available that is dedicated specifically to Australia Day in the villages, so the Shire will have diverse and exciting celebrations that are truly representative of Australia.

* 8. Please review and accept the Assessment Guidelines for Australia Day Grant Allocation:
 1.       Applicants must be local non-profit community based Progress Associations, Hall Committees or Community Organisations. Organisations must be incorporated bodies or sub-groups of an incorporated body
2.       Chapters of larger organisations with a local branch are eligible if they are a resident (Gunnedah Shire) not-for-profit organisation
3.       Applicants must provide evidence that they have appropriate and current insurances in place
4.       The Australia Day Event  must be publicly presented in the Gunnedah Local Government Area, Gunnedah Shire which target communities in the outlying villages.
5.       The project(s) must be current or proposed services/activities to be delivered for Australia Day 2020. Retrospective funding will not be provided
6.       Where grants are being used to purchase equipment or materials the organisation is required to include in the application a minimum of one (1) quote for the items requested
7.       Applicants must lodge a completed Application form with all of the required information completed by the prescribed date and time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
8.       Evidence of a co-contribution of funds or In-Kind donations by the applying organisation.
9.       The applicant must be capable of obtaining all regulatory approvals for the project and the cost of such approvals included in the budget. Funding approval from Council does not equate in any way to regulatory approval
