In a systematic review and meta-analysis of 7 RCTs comparing home visits to usual care for management of diabetes, the meta-analysis determined a mean difference in HbA1c (%) in those receiving home visits was -0.79% [95% CI: -0.93 to -0.25%]; p<0.05.  There were not enough data to evaluate the costs versus the benefits of home visits.
